First Harvest
Our first harvested produce. This little pepper fell off of his plant so we picked him up and he's half chopped up and partial eaten now. We've also picked a few green onions and the bean plants have their first beans starting. Most of the vine-y things are getting flowers. And the raspberries are ripening and delicious. And there are little bitty tomatoes. Hopefully this will be the year I don't cut myself cutting a tomato in half in my hand with a really sharp knife.

6/18/2010 Update!
A new layout and an update.
With all of the rain that we've been getting, we haven't checked the garden but we did today and everything is doing wonderfully. Everything got a dose of Miracle Grow and in few weeks anything that we started from seed that is still straggling will be dosed again. I'll probably take pictures once everything starts getting further along.

My gardens's all spiffy-fied. It took 5 days to get it cleared, tilled, and planted. And I be hurtin bad. Let's take a 360.
We've got potatoes, tomatoes, beans, herbs, peppers, lettuces, onions, peanuts, broccoli, cauliflower, watermelon, acorn squash, kohlrabi, and cucumbers. We are going to give a dose of Miracle Grow in about a week and then after that we'll probably dose any stragglers again.

Update
Since it's been raining so often around here, we haven't been able to get to the garden yet. But we are going tomorrow to pick more rhubarb and see how it's doing.

Update
We went up to the garden and did some slashing to get rid of tall point sticks from weeds. All seeds have been started in the house that were going to be and so far we've only lost a few which sucked but is okay. My mom wants to look at buying 2 of those 55 gal drums for holding water up at the garden because there have been many times when we can't get water because someone further up the line has turn off the switch or is using a hose. And it really sucks to try and water a 30' x 30' garden with a mere trickle of water in the dead heat of summer.

Garden Update
Last week we went to Steins to get some seeds for plants that didn't come up. And the melons, squash, and tomatoes got transplanted into bigger containers. So far everything is growing really well.

My garden is off to a great start.
I started several types of seeds two weeks ago in preparation for this year's garden and most of them are coming up now. This is only a little more than half of the planned plants. The rest will be started the first week of April. And then just a few herbs and some seed potatoes to be purchased and planted in mid May.

About me
I have been gardening for several years now at a community garden. This year we are really going to see just how self sufficient we can be with it.
